Hearts of Pine LLC recently signed a lease for 3,040 square feet at 127 Marginal Way in Portland from Back Cove Co., and plans to open a new store this month.
Portland Hearts of Pine soccer team is building out a merchandise shop on Marginal Way, in the Forest City.
Hearts of Pine LLC signed a lease for 3,040 square feet at 127 Marginal Way in Portland from Back Cove Co., with representation from Reese McFarlane of the Boulos Co. The landlord was represented by Joe Malone and Jennifer Small of Malone Commercial Brokers.
The building was formerly home to Allspeed Cyclery & Snow (which earlier moved to Brighton Avenue).
The organization has had a 1,800-square-foot merchandise shop at 65 Hanover St. in Portland, but it’s outgrown that space, McFarlane said, “thanks to their impressive growth and booming sales at games, in the store and online.”
Kate De Oliveira, senior director of consumer products for Hearts of Pine, added: “This location offers us the space for some of our front office staff, game day preparation, and more in-store events. We’re treating this new space as a clubhouse of sorts!”
She clarified that the new retail space is for selling merchandise, not game tickets.
“We have started the build out, and inventory will be trickling in within the next two weeks,” De Oliveira said.
Jeremy Richardson, owner of Log Jam Vintage in Bangor, has been part of the renovation team.
“Jeremy has incredible experience with traditional carpentry and retail store design," said De Oliveira.
Brett Fermeglia with Portland-based Presumpscot Construction is building modular fixtures for the new store.
“We’re hopeful to open our doors to our amazing fans in the third week of May,” De Oliveira said.
An opening date will be announced soon.
