A past vice president, Jennifer Small succeeds Shannon Richards, who served as the organization’s president for two years.
The Maine Real Estate & Development Association announced the slate of officers for the new fiscal year, led by Jennifer Small as president.
Small is a partner at Malone Commercial Brokers, headquartered in Portland, and is a board director for the Maine Commercial Association of Realtors. The Falmouth resident is affiliated with the National Association of Realtors and is a director in the New England chapter for Certified Commercial Investment Members.
Active in MEREDA since 2014, Small most recently served as vice president.
MEREDA's president of the past two years, Shannon Richards, is the founder of Portland-based Hay Runner.
"Shannon's impact on our volunteer organization has been incredible, and I have no doubt that will continue," Small said. "I look forward to continuing that work alongside our dedicated board members, advocating for smart growth and development that benefits communities throughout Maine."
Other officers named to the MEREDA board are returning vice presidents Paul Peck of Drummond & Drummond and Ben Brennan of KONE Elevators & Escalators.
Justin Laverriere of Maine Community Bank will again serve as treasurer, and Shelly R. Clark, MEREDA’s executive director, will continue as board secretary.
MEREDA is a statewide organization of commercial real estate owners, developers and related service providers, founded in 1985 and headquartered in Portland.
