Martha Stewart donates $1M to Acadia

Martha Stewart, who has a house in Seal Harbor, pledged $1 million for the benefit of Acadia National Park.

The gift was made in the form of a matching grant to the Friends of Acadia, a nonprofit that raises money for the park. To date, the friends group has raised all but $100,000 of the match, the Bangor Daily News reported. The grant was made through the Martha and Alexis Stewart Foundation.

The Friends of Acadia is raising $25 million to “help secure Acadia National Park for the next 100 years.”

Architectural Digest featured Stewart’s Seal Harbor home in 2015. She has also blogged about hiking in Acadia.
