A bipartisan coalition of mayors from 12 Maine municipalities will unveil an $85 million bond proposal today, asking mostly for education and transportation funds.
MaineToday Media reported Republican Sen. Roger Katz, a former Augusta mayor and sponsor of the new bond bill, will join the coalition during a press conference in Augusta to announce the plan.
That bond request would include $55 million for education and research and development, and about $20 million for transportation projects. Another $10 million is slated for wastewater improvements.
