With just over a week to go, Maine Energy Recovery Co. officials say a shutdown of a Biddeford incinerator is on track to meet a Dec. 31 deadline.
The company, a subsidiary of Casella Waste Systems, told the Sun Chronicle that the shutdown of the plant and opening of a new transfer station in Westbrook are on schedule.
The city of Biddeford approved the purchase of MERC property in late November at a price of $6.65 million.
