Maine Real Estate and Development Association’s annual Strikes for Scholars Bowl-A-Thon raised $15,000 to support scholarships for students pursuing careers in construction.
Over the 14 years MEREDA has held the event, bowlers have raised more than $211,000.
Scholarship contributions of $5,000 each will be awarded to the Associated General Contractors of Maine’s Education Foundation, Associated Builders and Contractors of Maine and the ACE Mentor Program of Maine.
Portland’s Bayside Bowl hosted the event, for which 24 businesses and organizations fielded teams.

“At MEREDA, investing in Maine’s next generation of construction and building trades professionals is central to our mission of fostering sustainable real estate development across the state,” said MEREDA Executive Director Shelly Clark. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, this year’s Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser exceeded expectations.”
