AI’s impact on real estate will be the topic of the keynote speech at the Maine Real Estate & Development Association’s annual forecast conference next month.
More than 900 attendees are expected at the event, to be held Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, according to Shelly Clark, MEREDA’s executive director. About 70 exhibitors are signed up to showcase their products and services.
Keynote Steve Weikal, industry chair of the Real Estate Transformation Lab at the MIT Center for Real Estate in Cambridge, Mass., and managing partner of a real estate technology investment fund, will cover AI’s impact on real estate development, operations and investment strategies.

He’ll also explore emerging trends reshaping the industry, address practical AI applications and spotlight innovative tech startups.
Afternoon sessions will offer insights on the construction, office and industrial, residential and multifamily and retail and hospitality sectors across Maine.
A list of panelists and session topics, along with registration information are available on the MEREDA website. Mainebiz is a sponsor, and the editorial team will be on the ground to report on the conference.
