Millinocket Regional Hospital has received a $2.5 million rural development loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to upgrade its systems and make it more energy efficient, according to a press release from U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud.
The funding will be used to replace outdated systems, including boilers, chillers, distribution systems, generators and electrical systems and install automated controls to make the hospital more energy efficient.
“This will save costs in the long term and help create local jobs in the process,” Michaud said in a statement.
