The Maine Public Broadcasting Network will receive a $750,000 federal grant to upgrade the public television network’s transmission equipment.
The funding is part of $170 million awarded this year by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as part of the federal agency’s Rural Development program, according to a press release.
The money will fund the replacement of analog microwave transmitters and receivers in the television network, transitioning the network to a digital transmission system.
