The Maine Technology Institute and Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio, plan to release a study on business clusters in Maine at the end of February.
The study will focus on areas where there is a density of expertise in certain fields, Scott Burnett, MTI’s director of marketing, told Mainebiz.
Burnett said the study will guide MTI’s investment direction and decision-making process.
He added that the six-month study, which is nearing its conclusion, was funded by MTI. Battelle, a private nonprofit applied science and technology development company, and MTI have worked together on several earlier projects, he added.
