A trade group from Northern Ireland is visiting Maine this week to learn about the state’s economic development efforts.
The group of 19 businesspeople and elected officials will tour Portland, Augusta, Brunswick, Bangor, Orono, Camden and Rockland to see how the state promotes its “creative economy,” or arts and technology industries. The trip is organized by Manuel & Associates in Littleton, in Aroostook County.
Trade groups from Maine and Northern Ireland have crisscrossed the ocean for educational visits for the last six years, according to the Associated Press.
