National furniture and housewares retailer West Elm will be opening its first store in Maine next year in Portland’s Old Port District.
Mark Malone of Portland-based Malone Commercial Brokers, who brokered the deal, told the Bangor Daily News that the retail chain plans to open the store at 164 Middle St. by June 2017 following extensive renovations.
The Middle Street building was home to the White Cap Grille before its closure in the fall of 2015.
