The deputy director of the Maine Office of Tourism has been tapped to become its new top director.
Carolann Ouellette has been chosen by Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Philip Congdon to lead the state’s tourism office, replacing Pat Eltman, according to the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. As deputy director, Ouellette worked as international marketing manager and oversaw training initiatives and arts and heritage tourism. Prior to joining the Maine Office of Tourism, she owned Moose Point Tavern in Jackman, and previously managed the New England Outdoor Center in Millinocket.
