The Maine Turnpike Authority announced today that, starting April 1, a high-speed lane will be added to traffic in both directions at its New Gloucester toll plaza.
The Associated Press reported new lanes will allow drivers who use E-ZPass, around 80% of the turnpike’s commercial traffic and 60% of its passenger traffic, to drive through the toll plaza at highway speeds.
The high-speed plaza will be the first in the state.
