Freeport-based Zachau Construction has hired Chris Rodenhizer as a construction executive, adding 14 years of building experience in the health care, life sciences and commercial fields.
Rodenhizer will work across preconstruction, project delivery and safety. He will also work on business development, expanding the firm’s network in health care and life sciences.
Rodenhizer joins Zachau Construction from Turner Construction Co. and brings experience on complex projects throughout New England.
In Maine, his work includes the expansion of Maine Medical Center’s Bramhall Campus in Portland, the Coulombe Family Tower and the Malone Family Tower. He has also worked on Redfern Properties’ Hiawatha at 667 Congress St., an eight-story mixed-use development in Portland’s Longfellow Square.
Rodenhizer’s New England experience includes the 162,000-square-foot Williamson Translational Research Building at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire, and laboratory, office and mixed-use developments in the Boston area. He also has experience in prefabricated building systems.

Rodenhizer holds a bachelor’s degree in construction systems management from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
