Deering is also assistant vice president and branch manager of the bank's 1200 Congress St. location. The bank also announced that Lennie Burke was recently promoted to branch manager in Freeport. Burke is also the branch manager for both the Maine Street and Cook's Corner offices in Brunswick.
Unum, a financial protection benefits company in Portland, recently promoted Joe Cusack to senior market manager and John Perry to sales manager for its Boston-Portland sales office. Cusack was previously sales manager and Perry was a sales representative.

Texas Instruments in South Portland won in the category of businesses over 100 employees; Allagash Brewery, Portland, in the businesses with 20-99 employees category; the Lewiston-Auburn Pollution Control Authority in the category of local, state or tribal government; and the Maine Water Environment Association in the not-for-profit category.
The Small Business Council of America recently presented U.S. Sen. Susan Collins with its Outstanding Congressional Achievement Award.
