The city of Bangor hired Jennifer Gunderman as director of Bangor Public Health & Community Services. Gunderman was previously director of the Maine Area Health Education Center.
OceanView at Falmouth, a retirement community, hired Aleks Kazimierczak as director of assisted living for Falmouth House and Legacy Memory Care. Kazimierczak was nurse manager at Falmouth House Assisted Living.
Defend Our Health, a nonprofit public health and social justice organization in Portland, hired Emily Carey Perez de Alejo as president and CEO. Carey Perez de Alejo has 15 years of experience in environmental public health.
Penobscot General Contractors in Falmouth hired Lawton Powell as senior project manager. Powell has 10 years of industry experience.
Northern Light Primary Care, Hampden hired Lara Kirkpatrick as a certified menopause society clinical practitioner.
Androscoggin Bank in Lewiston hired Christine Bishop as vice president, government banking services officer.
Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland hired David Lloyd Ghiorse as a physician assistant and Leana Maria Thomas as a board-certified adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner at Northern Light Mercy Cardiovascular Care. Ghiorse was previously with Martin’s Point Health Care while Thomas was with Wentworth Douglass Health Partners in Dover, N.H.
Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce in Waterville hired Jamie Feyler as customer service/bookkeeper.
Ecomaine in Portland hired Jamie Garvin as director of communications and public affairs.
Volk Packaging Corp. in Biddeford hired Joe Curesky as COO. Curesky was formerly with Westrock, Southern Container and Weyerhaeuser.
Hancock Lumber in Casco hired Anna Russo as chief people officer.
Aroma Joe’s, a Scarborough-based coffee shop chain, hired Courtney Cheever as director of operations.
Starboard Leadership Consulting, an affiliate of Bangor law firm Rudman Winchell, hired Paul Howe as vice president.
Promotions
Husson University in Bangor promoted Lynne Coy-Ogan to president, effective July 1. Coy-Ogan is currently senior vice president for academic affairs and provost.
Penobscot General Contractors in Falmouth promoted Joe Campbell to director of preconstruction and Michelle Gaboury to senior project manager.
Competitive Energy Services LLC, a private energy consulting firm in Portland, promoted Matthew Gamache to COO and Eben Perkins to chief strategy officer. Gamache was previously vice president, analytics and operations while Perkins was vice president, consulting.

New Dimensions Federal Credit Union in Waterville promoted Tanya Verzoni to vice president of human resources and talent development. Verzoni was director of financial education and staff development.
Verrill, a law firm in Portland, promoted Danielle Starr to partner. Starr is a member of the firm’s family law practice group.
Maine State Credit Union in Augusta promoted Lavetta Denson to vice president, regional retail manager; Jennifer Chipman to vice president, new business development manager; Hillary Jackson to branch manager in Rockland; and Michele Lyons to branch manager in Waterville.
Albin, Randall & Bennett, an accounting and business advisory firm in Portland, promoted John Hadwen and Benjamin Lord to principals. Hadwen specializes in tax consulting, planning and compliance for businesses and ownership groups while Lord specializes in providing consulting, tax and accounting services to clients in the construction, real estate development, manufacturing and distribution industries.

Appointments
The Institute for Family-Owned Business in Portland elected new board officers: Joe Capozza, Capozza Floor Covering Center, as chair; Dottier Chalmers Cutter, Chalmers Insurance Group, as past chair; Deirdre Wadsworth, Hardypond Construction, as vice chair; and Jeff Messer, Messer Truck Equipment, as secretary.
