New hires

Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan promoted Tiffany Comis to CEO. Comis, who has two decades of experience, was previously COO. Portland Housing Development Crop. hired Greg Putnam as asset manager. Putnam previously served as a budget analyst with the Nevada Department of Education. Portside Real Estate Group in Falmouth hired Aaron Rouse as an associate broker at its Portsmouth, N.H., office. Alliant Insurance Services hired Sheila Lowe as a producer in its employee benefits group based in Portland.

Bernstein Shur, a law firm in Portland, hired Michael Murray as a shareholder to lead its newly created immigration law practice. Olivia Shaw was hired as an associate in the practice. Hewnoaks Artist Residency in Lovell hired Beth Given-Sorensen as executive director. Given-Sorensen was previously development director at One Longfellow Square. Good Shepherd Food Bank in Auburn hired Camilo Echanique as CFO. Camilo previously was a vice president of finance at Unum Group. The Saco Fire Department hired Kevin Duross as deputy fire chief of logistics. Most recently, Duross served as deputy chief at the Scarborough Fire Department.

The Kennebec Regional Development Authority in Oakland hired Kristine Logan as executive director. Logan most recently served as executive director of the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority. Lynch Group in Bangor hired Amanda Pearson as vice president of Lynch Logistics and MaineDelivery. Previously, Pearson was a Facilitator for the TCA Profitability and Benchmarking Program at the Truckload Carriers Association. MaineHealth Behavioral Health in Portland hired Benjamin Grasso as regional medical director. Grasso was previously a staff psychiatrist at the Maine Correctional Center.

Promotions

L.L.Bean Inc. promoted Greg Elder to president and CEO. Elder was previously chief retail officer. Pierce Atwood LLP, a law firm in Portland, promoted Katie Porter to partner. Porter represents private and public employers and helps emerging companies establish and maintain all aspects of their employment policies and practices. Verrill, a law firm in Portland, promoted Hans Eysenbach, Sarah Grossnickle and Elizabeth Johnston to partner. Eysenbach is a member of the firm’s telecommunications group, Grossnickle is a member of firm’s trial and litigation group and Johnston is a member of the firm’s employment and labor group.

Achievements

Sargent Corp., a construction company in Orono, said its Thomas Brook Rail Bridge Replacement in Oakfield was selected as a national “Best of the Best” projects winner by Engineering News-Record in the small project category. Sevee & Maher Engineers in Cumberland received the American Council of Engineering Companies Maine Chapter’s “Engineering Excellence Award” for its work on Estabrook’s Farms & Greenhouse’s greenhouse facility in Pownal. East Brown Cow and Safdie Architects said their Old Port Square plan received an “Architizer Award” for architectural concept, vision for retail and hospitality and was named an “Editor’s Choice” winner for its approach to retail and hospitality use. Dean Temple, vice president and architecture manager at Haley Ward, led the renovation, in partnership with the Wingate Cos., of Forte at 1440 Beacon, which received the Massachusetts Apartment Association “Communities of Excellence Award” for renovated community of the year. Community Credit Union in Lewiston announced that Mary Randall, Erin Dunn-Kimball and Ginger Leigh Smith each earned the “Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor” designation through America’s Credit Unions’ Financial Counseling Certification Program. Randall is a loan specialist, Dunn-Kimball a marketing specialist and Smith, a financial and life navigator. Norway Savings Bank said it earned a “Best of Bauer” distinction from BauerFinancial Inc. The honor is reserved for banks that have earned and maintained the national bank rating firm’s “5-Star Superior Rating” for 25 years or longer.
