Northern Light Surgical Specialists in Bangor hired Alexander Fisher as a surgical oncologist.
East Brown Cow and Commonwealth Hotels hired Stacy O'Reilly as area general manager for Hyatt Place Portland-Old Port and the Docent’s Collection.
Portland Gastroenterology Center hired Alexander Weick as a provider. Weick is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Maine Savings Federal Credit Union in Hampden hired Adam Kavanagh as chief information officer. Kavanagh has 10 years of credit union industry experience.
Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden hired Caitlin Harrington as a retirement plan coordinator.
The Ogunquit Museum of American Art hired David Cunningham as director of advancement. Cunningham previously directed worldwide scouting and strategy at IMG Models.
Franklin Savings Bank hired Stacy DeMerchant as assistant vice president, mortgage loan officer. DeMerchant has 33 years of experience in the banking industry.
Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce in Waterville hired Michael Guarino as community engagement specialist. Guarino was previously associate director for the Maine Sports Commission.
Promotions

Norway Savings Bank promoted Ryan Dillingham to vice president, information technology manager; Frank Farrell to vice president, information systems manager; and Melissa Rock to vice president, marketing director.
Verizon promoted Chris Flood to senior vice president and market president of its Atlantic north market, which includes Maine. Flood was consumer vice president of Verizon consumer group’s northeast region.
Bangor Savings Bank promoted Jay Muth to senior vice president, community development banking and Community Reinvestment Act officer. Muth was most recently vice president, community development and CRA officer.
Appointments
Bath Savings added Jeffrey Geiger and Lois Skillings to its board of trustees. Prior to retirement, Geiger served as president of both Bath Iron Works and Electric Boat; Skillings retired early this year as president and CEO of Mid Coast-Parkview Health.
Achievements
The Portland Water District announced it was selected as the “Sustainable Water Utility Management Award” winner by the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies.
AARP Maine named Phil Chin the recipient of its “2023 Andrus Award” in honoring those who make a difference in the lives of others. Chin, a retired radio producer, has served as a volunteer instructor and spokesperson for the organization for more than 10 years.
The Alnoba Lewis Family Foundation named Briana Warner its “Alnoba CEO Environmental Leadership Award” winner. Warner is CEO of Atlantic Sea Farms, a seaweed farming company in Biddeford.

Rebecca Hatfield, president of Avesta Housing in Portland, was presented with the “Stephen B. Mooers Award” by MaineHousing for her long-time commitment to the work of creating affordable housing for all. The organization also recognized Bill Shanahan, co-founder and senior consultant of Evernorth, for his life-long dedication and years of service in creating affordable housing in Maine and New England.
Mindy Maheu and Jennifer Coffin, personal insurance account executives with Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden, were honored with the “Safeco Insurance Award of Excellence,” recognizing their underwriting skill.
HM Payson, a financial advisory firm in Portland, was ranked No. 33 on CNBC’s top 100 list of financial advisors, the “FA 100.” It’s the fifth year the firm has been included on the list.
GLP Films in Kennebunk won the “Storyteller of the Year” at the 2023 Impact Award hosted by Regenerative Travel.
