A Bedford, N.H.-based real estate title and law firm completed renovations for its first permanent location in Maine.
Absolute Title and the Law Office of Matthew W. Neuman opened at 600 Southborough Drive in South Portland, the company’s first fully staffed office in Maine and across a courtyard from a temporary office Absolute opened last fall.
The South Portland office is led by real estate attorney Jon Wood, a title industry veteran in Maine. It’s the company’s sixth brick-and-mortar location in New England.
Services include “mobile closing vehicles,” fitted with conference rooms, that travel to clients throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts for real estate closings.

“The real estate market in Maine continues to be incredibly busy, from the coast to the mountains,” said Matthew Neuman, the firm’s owner.
Absolute Title has been handling closings in Maine since 2007. The company was founded in 2005 in Bedford, N.H., and has offices in Concord, Portsmouth and Conway, N.H., as well as Lowell, Mass., with three attorneys and 43 support staffers across all locations.

The firm’s Maine team worked out of a temporary office at 500 Southborough Drive while the permanent space at 600 Southborough Drive was being renovated.
The location was chosen because it provides convenient access from I-95 and I-295. The team plans to serve the entire state using its fleet of mobile closing vehicles.
More hiring is expected for South Portland, said Neuman.
Maine-based work is about 10% of the firm’s overall workload, but a growing segment, Neuman previously told Mainebiz.
