The company that operates the CAT high-speed ferry service between Portland, Bar Harbor and Yarmouth, N.S., is getting some help from the Nova Scotia government.
Nova Scotia’s Economic Development Department has invested $4.4 million in Bay Ferries Ltd. to help the company survive in the face of crippling fuel costs, according to the Halifax Chronicle-Herald. A government official told the paper the ferry service would not have been able to continue without the financial boost.
