Nursing home agrees to pay $1.2M settlement

Ross Manor, an elderly nursing center in Bangor, has agreed to pay $1.2 million as part of a settlement with federal prosecutors over allegations of inflated Medicare claims.

The Associated Press reported that the settlement resolves accusations by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston that Ross Manor failed to prevent a subcontractor, RehabCare Group East Inc., from providing unnecessary levels of therapy it billed for Medicare reimbursements.

Ross Manor has not commented on the settlement.
