Forbes Magazine’s annual “Best States for Business” list came out last week and Mainers can again grit their teeth.
This year, the Pine State falls back to the No. 49 position — yes, the second-to-worst ranking — and one notch down from last year’s ranking.
And what was the only state to place lower in the rankings? West Virginia.
The president of the Maine Chamber of Commerce told WGME13 that he disagrees with Forbes’ assessment that the state lacking big businesses is a negative, telling the station that it isn’t a weakness but a positive.
But don’t worry, Maine did score well in in terms of quality of life: it ranked 15th.
