Oxford Casino beat revenue projections for its first year in business, generating $65 million from its slots and table games between June 2012 and May of this year.
The Associated Press reported that the casino’s revenue total beat out the more-established Hollywood Slots in Bangor, which had around $58 million in revenue for the same period.
The news service reported that Oxford took in $53 million from gamblers at its 816 slot machines and the other $12 million from gamblers at its 22 table games.
Hollywood Slots took in $50 million at its slots and $8 million at its table games.
In late March, the Kentucky-based Churchill Downs Inc. announced its plans to purchase the Oxford Casino for $160 million.
