Pharma settlement brings $90K to Maine Medicaid

A national settlement with a Connecticut-based pharmaceutical company will bring nearly $90,000 back to Maine’s Medicaid fund.

Maine’s Attorney General William Schneider announced in a press release Friday the resolution of the suit against Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc., which alleged that the company paid kickbacks and engaged in off-label marketing campaigns in connection with the drugs Atrovent, Combivent, Micardis and Aggrenox.

Maine will receive $89,720 as a result of the lawsuit, which ordered the company to pay out $95 million to federal and state governments.
