U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin, R-Maine, said the Environmental Protection Agency’s new boiler regulations could cost Sappi’s paper mill in Skowhegan millions of dollars.
The Associated Press reported that Poliquin and U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney, R-South Carolina, expressed their concerns in a letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy last week.
Poliquin and Mulvaney said complying with the new rules will cost Sappi millions of dollars that could “otherwise be invested in efficiency, safety and job creation.”
