Mechanics’ Hall, a historic Portland nonprofit arts and humanities center, has hired Caroline Routh as its development associate, where she will support the organization’s fundraising and donor stewardship efforts.
A Maine native and member of Portland’s arts community, Routh most recently served as recruitment and engagement manager at the Roux Institute at Northeastern University. In that role, she managed relationships across a 38-institution network in New England and worked with prospective students.
Routh earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies and Chinese language from American University. She completed internships with Forbes-Tate Partners and the United Nations’ International Fund for Agricultural Development and has working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
About the nonprofit
Mechanics’ Hall, led by Executive Director Annie Leahy, was founded in 1859 by the Maine Charitable Mechanic Association and serves as an arts and humanities venue in downtown Portland. The building was designated nationally significant by the National Park Service in 2022 and is home to one of the nation’s oldest lending libraries.
