A Portland cycling studio founded in 2018 at 20 Free St. recently relocated half-a-mile to a larger space at 82 Hanover St.
Jibe Cycle leased the spot, formerly leased to CycleBar, from Reveler Development. The space provides a more accessible, single-level layout; the business installed upgraded equipment and amenities, according to a news release.
The studio has a large, open cycling room, high ceilings and natural light in the lobby, said Joanna Witherill, owner and founder of Jibe Cycle. Benefits for members include free parking and proximity to other fitness and wellness businesses.

Since 2018, Jibe Cycle has expanded from its original Portland location to Yarmouth and to South Carolina, with locations in Charleston and Mount Pleasant.
Its 45-minute classes blend rhythm-based cycling with full-body choreography, designed for all fitness levels. Riders range from age 16 to 75.
The building, at 82 Hanover St. in the Bayside neighborhood, is called Hanover Works. Other tenants include Argenta Brewing.
“We’re focused on building places that feel active, welcoming and well-used throughout the day,” said John Laliberte, CEO of Reveler Development. “Jibe Cycle brings a strong sense of energy to Hanover Works, and we’re excited to see them activate the space in a way that adds to the broader ecosystem we’re cultivating in West Bayside.”
Jibe Cycle will continue operating its Yarmouth location, while the Free Street studio will close as part of the transition. The South Carolina locations remain open.
