Portland city officials have delayed moving forward on a proposal to create regulations for Uber and other ride-sharing services.
The Portland Press Herald reported that City Council’s Transportation, Sustainability and Energy Committee delayed making any decisions on the proposal to discuss Uber’s surge pricing model and how state legislation might impact Uber and other services.
In addition to requiring each Uber driver to have vehicle insurance, the proposal would also call for charging an annual $76 driver license fee and a $500 vehicle license fee.
