Stakeholders in the scallop industry are expected to gather next year in Portland to share research and best practices.
WCSH 6 reported that the 2017 International Pectinid Workshop is scheduled for April 19-25 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay. The event will include international scientists, students and seafood industry representatives. The workshop has taken place biennially since 1976.
The event’s committee includes representatives from Norway, England, Ireland, Chile and Australia, among other countries.
The lead sponsor of the event is the New England Fishery Management Council.
