The Association of Defense Communities will hold its first national forum in Portland, in part to tour redevelopment efforts in Brunswick, which have gotten top marks from federal officials.
The conference, held at the end of September, will include forums on aspects of base redevelopment and a look at the Brunswick effort to redevelop the former Brunswick Naval Air Station.
Federal officials have identified the effort as the most advanced out of the military bases decommissioned in 2005.
