Portland’s Back Bay Bicycle riding off into the sunset

After 30 years of offering bicyclists a one-stop shop for all their needs, the Portland-based Back Bay Bicycle will close its doors next week.

The Portland Press Herald spoke to owner Cheryl Oliver, who said the hassle of moving, coupled with signing another long-term lease and being unable to find a suitable new space led to her decision to close up shop for good.

A possible sale of the business also fell through, according to the Press Herald.

“It was all in or all out,” Oliver told the Press Herald.
