Portland-based law firm Preti Flaherty has partnered with a seven-attorney Boston firm specializing in intellectual property law.
Preti announced in a press release Monday that it will consolidate its Boston office and Preti Minahan affiliate with the current Boston office of its new partner, Weingarten, Schurgin, Gangebin & Lebovici, whose attorneys will join Preti on Dec. 14.
WSGL specializes in intellectual property law including patents, trademarks and copyrights, according to the firm’s website.
John Piper, Preti Flaherty’s managing partner, said in a press release that the move positions Preti for more work in intellectual property law, particularly in technical fields like engineering, software development, biotechnology and patent litigation. As part of the arrangement, Preti will close its Boston office at 53 State St.
