Pro athletes in Beach to Beacon 10K to vie for $90K in prize money

Elite runners from around the world will fly on their feet through Cape Elizabeth this Saturday for the 2026 TD Beach to Beacon 10K charity race, chasing personal bests, course records and more than $90,000 in prize money.

The winners of the men’s and women’s open races will each earn $10,000, with prize money awarded to the top 10 finishers overall, funded by TD Bank.

Dunkin’ sponsors a separate $23,000 purse for the top American runners, split evenly among the top five U.S. men and women. The top American finishers will each receive $5,000.

Thousands of amateur runners will also participate. A spokesman for the organizer said that 8,000 participants have registered, including members of the general public and those who will be wearing sponsor and beneficiary bibs.

The 6.2-mile race starts near the entrance to Crescent Beach State Park on Route 77 in Cape Elizabeth, winding its way along a scenic coastal course along tree-lined streets wth ocean views. The finish line is in Fort Williams Park at the foot of Portland Head Light overlooking Casco Bay.

This year’s race beneficiary is Dirigo Reads, a Bangor-based nonprofit that promotes literacy among children across Maine.
