Bangor has the seventh-lowest business tax costs in the country, according to a recent report by the international financial consulting firm KMPG.
The Bangor Daily News reported that the study comes from a look at tax data between July 2011 and January 2012 that compares taxes paid by corporations in a specific location and industry to taxes paid by similar corporations throughout the United States.
Bangor was the only city in Maine to make the list of 71 cities, with Providence, R.I., appearing as the only other New England city listed.
