A metal fabricator is planning a $1 million expansion at its Rockland location, and is hoping to get Pine Tree Zone status.
Steel Pro Inc. has submitted a proposal to the city council to get its nearly two-acre property added to the region’s Pine Tree Zone, which would provide the company with state tax breaks and allow it to expand, according to the Courier-Gazette in Rockland. Steel Pro president and owner Chris Beebe told the paper that the expansion would help the company, which manufactures stainless steel tanks for high-technology industries, to meet increased demand. The expansion would include hiring eight additional employees.
The city council is planning to consider the proposal on Wednesday, according to the paper.
