The Navy has awarded General Dynamics’ Saco Defense facility a nearly $10 million machine gun contract.
Saco Defense, known as General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, will receive a $9.83 million contract for 20 mm Gatling machine gun systems used on F/A-18 fighter aircraft, according to a press release from U.S. Sen. Susan Collins. At least half the production work will happen at the Saco facility.
The work is expected to be completed by September 2012.
