Maine home sales declined in October compared to the year prior, while the median price increased by 6.5%, according to the latest housing market report from RE/MAX Integra of New England.
Maine showed a decrease of 1.1% in total transactions compared to October 2014, according to the report issued Wednesday. However, Maine’s median home sale price of $189,000 increased 6.5% and the 1,599 pending sales were up 14.9%, the second highest in New England. There were 1,731 units of single-family homes and condominiums sold.
In September, sales of homes in Maine increased by 14% compared to the year before.
Throughout New England, year-over-year sales in October increased by 3.8%.
