The Sarah Long Bridge connecting Maine and New Hampshire will remain closed through May, nearly a month longer than originally expected.
The Bangor Daily News reported the bridge may remain closed through May 25 to make repairs after a 470-foot oil tanker drifted into the structure early this month.
The damage has been estimated at around $2.5 million.
New Hampshire officials told the paper that the work schedule for repairs is expected to include weekend hours starting April 20 to get the bridge that typically carries 14,000 cars a day back in service.
