Scarborough-based contractor R.L. Marcotte has a 45-unit housing subdivision underway in Old Orchard Beach, due to break ground this spring.Dubbed Sea Oaks, the subdivision will consist of 25 stand-alone condominiums and 20 single-family house lots, on 40 semi-wooded acres off of Portland Avenue.Three styles of condo designs offer a range in size from 2,100 to 2,800 square feet. The subdivision is surrounded by conservation land, will include trails, community gardens, a pond, and pickleball courts, and is connected to town water and sewer.
Crowley said the project is expected to be built over two years. Homes are being listed with Faith Fontaine in Keller Williams’ Auburn office.
Sea Oaks comes on the heels of several recent housing projects in town, including the 55-unit Milliken Heights apartment complex, at 38 Portland Ave., designed for year-round residents age 55 and older.
The Overlook Townhomes, being built on Little River Road, is a 25-unit condominium development, and the site of a former post office at 60 Saco Ave. is being redeveloped into a small condo complex.
