Sermatech International has received city approval for a 6,000-square-foot addition to its Biddeford plant that will lead to the creation of 20 to 25 new jobs, according to a press release.
The company, headquartered in Pottstown, Pa., develops and applies protective coatings for commercial, industrial and military equipment. It operates 11 facilities worldwide, including its 40,000-square-foot plant at the Airport Industrial Park in Biddeford where it currently employs 103 workers.
Robert Dodge, Biddeford’s economic development director, said Sermatech’s expansion is part of a trend of manufacturing growth in the area that has created more than 200 new jobs in the past two years, the press release says.
