Maine has six colleges on the Princeton Review’s annual best colleges list.
The Best Colleges for 2027 list includes 392 institutions, about 14% of the nearly 2,800 four-year colleges and universities in the U.S.
They’re selected primarily based on its assessment of their academic offerings, informed by data from college administrators and feedback from students, parents, educators and college counselors.
Maine colleges that made the list are the University of New England, University of Maine, Bowdoin College, Bates College, Colby College and the College of the Atlantic.
Princeton Review does not rank the institutions.
