With temperatures dropping and new snow-makers at the ready, two Maine ski resorts have opened early.
Sunday River opened Tuesday and Sugarloaf ski resort plans to open Friday, a week earlier than expected and the earliest since 2007, the Sun Journal reported.
Before this season, a number of Maine’s ski resorts, including Sugarloaf, invested in snow-making machines and other improvements.
Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that Sugarloaf was the first to open this season.
