Smith & Wesson to cut 37 jobs in Houlton

The Massachusetts-based gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson plans to phase out 37 jobs at its Houlton plant, where the company is shifting its focus from all-metal gun parts to polymer-frame handguns.

The Associated Press reported the company will also move several other manufacturing processes to Springfield, Mass. The plant now employs around 150 people.
