Spurwink, a nonprofit that provides behavioral health, education and residential services, will relocate several Portland behavioral health programs to a single location later this month and move its administrative office to Scarborough.
Outpatient behavioral health services currently located at 901 Washington Ave. will move to 895 Washington Ave. on Thursday, July 23. The Living Room Crisis Center and other services now operating at 62 Elm St. will relocate to the same building on Monday, July 27.
Administrative offices will move to 6 Ashley Drive in Scarborough.
The consolidation will put Spurwink's outpatient behavioral health programs under one roof, allowing clients to access multiple services at a single location. The new facility offers expanded parking, improved accessibility and updated space for clients and staff.
“These moves reflect our commitment to improving how people access behavioral health services,” said Eric Meyer, president and CEO of Spurwink. “By bringing outpatient services together under one roof, we are strengthening our ability to provide coordinated, person-centered care.”
The nonprofit said it has developed a continuity-of-care plan to minimize disruptions during the transition. Appointments will continue as scheduled unless clients are contacted directly by their care teams. Staff will be working with clients, families and community partners to address scheduling, transportation and other logistical needs. The Living Room Crisis Center will remain open throughout the move.
Signs and information materials will be posted at the former locations to direct clients and visitors to the new Washington Avenue office.
Spurwink, which is one of Maine's largest nonprofits, claimed revenue of $89.99 million in its most recent tax filing, according to the 2025 Mainebiz Giving Guide.
