Lewiston-based entrepreneurs can get up to $15,000 in funding to launch a new business or to add a new line to an existing operation through a new grant program.
The program is being offered by the Lewiston Economic and Community Development office with support from the Lewiston-Auburn Metro Chamber of Commerce.
Bryan Kaenrath, Lewiston city administrator said, “To my knowledge, this is the first locally funded grant program to support start-ups, recently opened businesses, and businesses relocating to Lewiston. We’ve had a fair amount of interest and a well-attended info session last week. We expect applicants to roll in over the coming weeks.”
Interested business owners and would-be entrepreneurs are invited to learn about the program at a workshop Nov. 10, from 8-9:30 a.m., at the chamber office at 415 Lisbon St. in Lewiston.
This workshop will cover eligibility, how to apply, what expenses are covered under the program and tips for creating a strong business plan and budget.
