We’re already seeing steep increases in gas prices.
Now, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce will delve into the Middle East conflict’s wider impact on the cost of heating oil, natural gas and electricity. A webinar on the topic is scheduled for April 8 at 9 a.m.

“The Iranian conflict has had massive implications on global energy markets from heating oil, natural gas and electricity,” the chamber said in an email promoting the event.
“Maine and New England have a unique exposure to these global markets, and this webinar will explore the economic implications of the Iranian conflict on Maine’s energy outlook, assess implications for households and businesses already struggling with rapidly increased bills, and assess policy options for a more affordable energy future.”
Patrick Woodcock, president and CEO of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, told Mainebiz the organization is in the process of lining up speakers this week.
