The state’s Bureau of Insurance recovered over $3 million for Maine residents involved in insurance payment disputes in 2012, according to a press release from the bureau.
Bureau Superintendent Eric Cioppa reported that the agency’s Consumer Health Care Division recovered over $2.2 million in insurance claims and the Property and Casualty Division recovered almost $950,000 for Maine residents.
Those dollar totals were the result of 9,000 inquiries and 900 complaints the bureau received in 2012.
