The state’s venture capital fund, which has operated as the Small Enterprise Growth Fund, has changed its name to the Maine Venture Fund.
The Bangor Daily News reported the fund, which invests in early-stage companies based in Maine, announced the change last week with hopes the new name will be easier to remember.
John Burns, manager of the fund, told the paper the group plans to launch a new website in a few weeks.
