True Textiles, formerly InterfaceFABRIC Inc., said it will lay off 90 employees at its plants in Guilford and Newport because of the ailing economy.
The company, which manufactures panel fabric for offices, says sales have dropped and forced it to cut back its workforce, the Bangor Daily News reported. True Textiles employs 100 people at both its Newport and Saulter plant in Guilford, and 400 at its main plant in Guilford, the paper said.
The laid off employees will not receive severance packages, according to the paper.
